The person police are calling the suspect may have been caught on tape before leaving the scene. A camera on a police cruiser was rolling as he remained on a scene following the crash.
Investigators tell us the man stayed on the scene a few minutes, then decided to drive off.
It happened just before midnight Wednesday night, at Glenns Bay Road and Highway 17 Business.
The chief of police in Surfside tells us a man on a sport bike turned in front of a husband and wife, each on their own bike, while they headed north on Highway 17.
The wife was flown to MUSC in Charleston in critical condition and her husband is in stable condition at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center. |
